Suse 13.1 Installation
Burned image disk spins briefly and then stops. Kernel fails to load and initialize install.

few things can have happened.
1) Your download is not right 2) The CD or DVD is not good 3) The burning tool you used 4) The ISO is for a different Architecture from that in your computer Maybe tried to download it again, maybe use the torrent download instead of direct download. What are the specs on the computer you are installing it? |
Do you see welcome screen? Do you see anything on screen? How do you know it fails to load kernel?

we can only make random guesses http://software.opensuse.org/131/en WHAT did you download ? and HOW ? Torrent? or the install iso using firefox ( direct link)? what iso ? there are many the 32 bit ? the 64 bit ? the default ? the KDE spin? as in the "live KDE"? or one of the "studio" images ? then there is the hardware is this a desktop? laptop? a handheld "tablet" and what is the hardware specs ? the CPU is it a p4,i3,i5, ARM or a old ppc and the ram ? 512 meg 1 gig ,4 + gig ? what then HOW did you burn the iso to the dvd ? and did you fallow the 13.1 install guide ? http://activedoc.opensuse.org/book/opensuse-start-up |
