There is probably a Suse resource somewhere that has this RPM, but the way to find missing library packages is through
www.google/linux. Putting in "libportaudio.so" got me
http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...ibportaudio.so
So what you are looking for is called "portaudio". Find an RPM for your machine (either 386 or 586 or 686, unless you have an Apple, or Sparc processor, or something else. What kind of computer is this again?). Find an RPM for your distro (Suse 10). Download it and install with the package manager.
When you first run audacity, do yourself a favor and just open a shell, and type "audacity" without the quotes. If it does not run it will tell you what is missing.
Good luck.
