Suse 10.2 GDM question
I want to change the bootloader screen and the login screen in gdm suse 10.2. I searched and havent found what im looking for, any point towards a tut or just instructions on how to do it would be appreciated

I haven't done SuSe in a while, so I hope this helps.

The bootloader screen should be an image file "/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz". You can unzip it, and edit it, save, and rezip. The login screen for gdm I'm not too sure about, but I think it is configurable inside /etc/init.d/gdm.

Sorry if I'm steering you wildly, it's been a few years for SuSe.

in your grub.conf file, what is the value of splashimage set to?

It is probably in /etc

For grub the splashimage is set in /boot/grub/menu.lst

For GDM, you should be able to access the properties directly from the log in screen or if not, there should be some option for log in window properties in the Administration menu.

OK, on my system (Fedora 7) menu.lst is a symlink to grub.conf.
