Suse 10.2 64bit Installation on Dell E521 model
 
I'm trying to install Suse 10.2 64bit version on Dell E521 model. When I select "Installation", it loads the kernel and the screen goes to blank. Keyboard locks up and nothing happens. When I try with "No APCI" installation, it doesn't lock up. What's the main difference between "No APCI" and regular installation?

Without acpi, the system can't reboot or shutdown automatically. You'll have to press the power button manually.
Your motherboard probably doesn't support ACPI or the linux drivers are screwed for your motherboard or Suze doesn't detect it correctly.
