SUSE 10.1 wireless
Hi
Being a complete beginner to Linux and windows XP pro was acting strange,I decided to install SUSE linux on my laptop. No problems, but now I would like connect to the internet through my main PC which is running Windows XP pro with a gate way ADSL router modem (D.LINK GSL G604T).I have searched various forums with much conflicting info and I have no idea which way to go.My laptop is a Dell latitude D600 with Intel Centrino techoligy I would like if possible to use a USB connection device.A walk thro would be nice. Is anybody going to take pity on me? |
What kind of wireless card do you have in your laptop? I've had good luck with Intel and Atheros based wireless chipsets which are natively supported in Linux. I've never used any USB based ones, but I know some work. You probably should consult the various Linux hardware compatibility lists to see if your current equipment is known to work with Linux.
