suse 10.0 on Dell Inspiron 1420

Woohoo !! my new dell 1420 just got delivered !

and I am ready to install Suse 10.0 in it .. lol . cant stand Vista

Is there anybody out there who has installed linux on 1420 ?? just hd some questions about it

1. are there drivers available for dell truemobile bluetooth in linux ? did a bit of googling but nothing came up.

2. how will i go about to get the media card slots to work ?

3. any software for on screen display for the media / brightness on screen display ?

My bit of goggling mentions the model using Ubuntu from Dell but not much more. Mentions the specs somewhat but does not elabirate on the use of hardware.

One can install the distro you want and post the info related from ' /sbin/lspci -v ' and maybe one might know about the items. But for staters boot with a Live CD and run the command to get the hardware info.

well doesnt matter .. cant stand vista so i went ahead and installed opensuse 10.3 on it ..

im still in the process of getting everything to work .. will post a detailed experience soon for the benefit of others
