supression of control characters in linux file

I'm transferring all data enter through key board to text file. While doing so, the control characters like back space, tab, white space etc also transferred to text file. How transfer these characters be prevented.

What distro are you using, and what text editing program are you using?

I'm redirecting all activity performed in linux session to a text file using command Sudo -u linuxid | tee -ai > text.log
the text log contain all keys like back space, space bar etc

maybe sed or awk between sudo and tee. I can't give you examples though sorry.
