Supported Wireless USB Adapters
 

Whats up guys....I am interested in picking up a good wireless USB adapter for my linux machines and just wanted to see if you guys had any luck with a certain one. Looking for one with good range, at least 802.11n, and supports the monitoring and packet injection. I have been looking around for a couple days now and the one I keep coming back to is the Alfa AWUS036NEH but if you guys know of any better ones, I would be glad to hear some. Would really like to pick up a good 802.11ac dongle but havnt really found anything that wasnt having issues with the drivers yet.

Most can be made to work with github driver sources and recent firmware. Not many that I know of that have out of the box goodness. Baring age of hardware or bleeding edge distro. Although atheros chipsets seem to mostly work with minimal efforts on others machines for me. And intel based wifi chipsets seem a common mention for the BSDs.

Hey thanks for the replies. I figured Id just give it a go and pick up the Alfa AWUS036NEH to see if its decent. I found a page that broke down the best USB dongles for OS compatibility and seems to be the best choice for what I need for now. Im still a noob tho so was trying to get some feedback going before I wasted my money.

I Like the "High Power SignalKing Signal King 48DBI" that was on the page you posted though Ztcoracat lol that thing looks like a beast.

You may want to do a little searching to see what usb dongle works well with the chipset that's on your pc. Running "lspci" will show important information about your VGA, GPU and other information about your system.
