SunFire X4150 (RAID-10) does not boot after RHEL v5 installation
Hi All,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for my problem. Also I'm new to this forum & Linux. Sorry if I'm in the wrong thread. I have purchased Sun Fire X4150 with the following config: - Intel(R) Xeon(R) E5440 2.83GHz - 4Gb RAM - 4 x 146Gb SAS HDD - DVD-ROM RW - RAID-10 installed I tried to install RHEL v5 onto this server. After selecting the default partitioning & successfully selected all the default packages, its time to reboot. However upon reboot, the server is unable to detect the RHEL OS. The message that was displayed is: Reboot and Select proper Boot device. or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key I've also tried to do custom partitioning. I removed all the existing partition and created as follows: - /boot 500Mb ext3 - /swap 8000Mb ext3 - / ext3 (rest of partition) But when finished installing all the packages & upon rebooting, still get the same message above. As for the RAID-10, during bootup, I can see that its successfully started up with no errors. Can anyone advise me on this? Thanks. |
Can someone help / advise me on this as I really need to get this server up urgently?
Thanks. |
