Question Sun Compatability

Hello Team,

This may be a dumb question, but I'm wondering if you can install RedHat or any version of linux on a Sun server? I've looked at the compatability list and can find no reference, however I'm not sure I'm using that correctly.

Any info on this would be helpful. Thanks.

For sure not this version from your cds. It's different system architecture. But I think it's possible.

It is possible, you just need the version for your system architecture, which should be available on your distro's ftp site.

I think Red Hat stopped supporting Sparc after 6.2 came out. There are still many distros that do support Sparc however. I know Debian, SuSE, UltraLinux, ROCK and Gentoo still have support to name a few.
