sudo: /etc/sudoers is mode 0600, should be 044

I diddled with my /etc/sudoers file and now I can't do anything with sudo.

Every time I try, I get the subject line: /etc/sudoers is mode 0600, should be 044.

Any thoughts?

How did you diddle with it, what exactly did you do to it? If you can't remember, try
history|grep sudo
and give us the relevant commands.

Thanks for your help.

For output, I got:

274 man visudo
  275 sudo visudo
  276 sudo thunar
  278 sudo EDITOR=/usr/bin/gedit visudo
  279 sudo gedit=/usr/bin/gedit visudo
  282 rm sudoers
  283 sudo rm sudoers
  284 chmod sudoers 7777
  286 sudo gpodder
  287 chmod 0440 /etc/sudoers
  288 sudo chmod 0440 /etc/sudoers
  289 sudo nano -B /etc/sudoers
  290 visudo
  291 sudo visudo
  292 sudo
  293 sudo apt-get update
  294 sudo EDITOR=/usr/bin/gedit visudo
  295 sudo -i
  301 sudo EDITOR=/usr/bin/gedit visudo
  302 ls -aldeO /etc/sudoers
  303 gedit /etc/sudoers
  304 sudo gedit /etc/sudoers
  306 history|grep sudo
Initially, I was trying to make it so that I wouldn't have to enter a password every time I sudo something (since no one uses this computer but me).

Now I'll settle for fixing this.

Thanx again.
