Subversion Authentication with ADS?

I want users to login into SVN through Active Directory Server running in Windows 2003. My Subversion Server is on Fedora 9 system.I have been suggested to use NTLM. I too downloaded the mod_ntlm.tar.gz but dont see any configure file to run.
Can anyone help me in understanding how NTLM would help?Do I need Windows 2003 Admin Credentials?
