Subgraph (debian distro) live mode & installation hang on VM on boot

Hi,

I've been trying to install subgraph on a VM without any joy so far. The host is win10x64, I've tried to run live mode and install this distro on a HyperV and on a Virtualbox machine but the screen always hangs at:

OK: Started Gnome display manager

I can still switch to other virtual terminals but since I haven't set up a user at this stage (Only filled out a password during setup) I don't know how to log in. I'd really like to try out subgraph but support and documentation are very skimpy. Does anyone here know how to get this working from here?

Cheers

update

Turns out the username is: user - so it's possible to log in through another virtual terminal (CTRL+ALT+F2). Then, you can set root user and run the updater etc. To start gnome, you need to type startx - this opens the desktop. Unfortunately I also couldn't get the browser to load so I'm gonna give up on this distro for now.

Thanks for the update! I use VBox (XPnetbook! host) to try lots of [small] distroS ;)
I'm guessing you mean web-browser like firefox. Maybe try `strace` it:eek:
IF you want to pursue debugging, feel free to post 'full' details & maybe LQgurus will have advice
OR, if you just want to 'end' this Thread, use ThreadTools at top to mark it '[SOLVED]'

In any case, **best wishes** & WELCOME to LQ! Looking forward to hearing more in the future!
