su apache - not working

I need to add a PGP keyring to my PHP user. To do this I need to be the PHP user by typing 'su apache' . When I do this, I get a message saying "This account is not currently available."

Any ideas on how go go about making this work?

Maybe you dont have a valid shell for this user listed under /etc/passwd. Remember to set it back to the previous setting when you're done.
