stupid k3b problem

"cdrecord has no permission to open device"

this is what i get when i try to burn a cd with my external burner. I am logged in as a user but when i am root it works fine. it suggests i use k3bsetup2 but i cannot find an rpm for fedora core 2. it doesn't seem to be in any of my apt repositories.
any suggestions?

Hi there claybub!!!

Try changing the permissions to rw in /dev/sg0 with chmod/chown 777

Hello there,

Look in the Settings menu - at the bottom is K3b Setup, which is k3bsetup2. It will set the proper permissions for you. Mind the Use burning group entry; you'll either have to add the the group that already is written there to your (cd-burning) users or change it to for instance users.
