Struggling to uninstall Serviio

Hi all,

Newbie here. I've done plenty of research before coming to ask for help.

I installed the latest version of Serviio, which has a bug and I'm trying to reinstall an older version. I'm using Ubuntu and manually installed serviio, this sudo apt-get remove doesn't work.

I followed some advice and removed the folder, however when I install the older version, the console comes up with the latest version.

How can I completely remove all trace and history of serviio?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave...

Welcome to the forum

Most likely, there are some pieces left over. What have you done so far, besides using "sudo apt-get remove" and removing the file, in your attempt to remove Serviio?

You could try a file cleaner like the ones mentioned here or perhaps the commands offered here might be of help.

Also, if no solutions can be found here on this forum, you can also check out Serviio's forum, as well.

Regards...

Hi John,

Like I saw I'm a newbie, I installed it by downloading the tar.gz from the website (source install?). I'm going to have a play with Synaptic (mentioned above, thanks) to see if that shifts and left overs.
