streaming video
Just installed openSUSe 13.1 KDE and am having trouble figuring out how to stream videos online. I have installed the flash player plugins and have no idea whats going on. The videos play but look messed up. It looks like the colors are off and the videos are smaller than they should be. I'm not sure if I described this well enough, but any help would be appreciated.

Would you mind listing your system specs so that we know what we are dealing with please.

Right click on a video while it's playing, there are settings there, a checkbox for hardware acceleration, see if that helps.

I opened settings but couldn't hit the button. The settings box had the same problem as the video. I'm using an intel 82852/855GM integrated graphics, 1.3 Mesa 9.2.3 driver. Not sure what specs are needed. Most every thing else looks fine. I think it may be an adobe problem but not sure. Attached is what the videos are looking like. Thanks for the help.

You can try to play the video using a client an see if that make it better. If the video is in youtube there are other youtube player out there. If using the client make it better then it is a problem with the flash plugin.
Look for minitube in the OpenSUSE software manager |
Just tried to play some .mpg files and had problems with that so I guess no videos can be played.

But what software are you using to play them? is Kaffeine? is it Dragon player? If your computer has an Intel video it should be able to play them just fine unless you haven't installed the codecs or the video driver for your video card.

Tried using kaffeine, xine, and vlc players. None of the three played the video.
