Streaming Radio

There are a couple of radio stations that I like to listen to, and they use liquid viewer which requires Windows Media player. Any way around this?

(I'm using Suse 10.0)

mplayer (and other media players too) can play most Windows Media files. there is a w32codecs pack available from mplayerhq.hu (and others i'm sure) which mplayer can use to interpret the stream. once that app is working you either *may* be able to play it via the mplayerplug-in app or alternatively view the source code for the page you want and find the link to the media. copy it and run it directly with mplayer.

I would contact the stations and tell them you are sorry to stop listening, but that's what you will have to do unless they produce a Linux compatible feed. There are always other stations with a similar format.

Maybe they offer alternative formats to the playlists? I know sites like di.fm have wmv, but also plain jane .pls support.
