strange error when trying to run script

Morning Linux people,

when trying to run a script, I get the following message:
ELF: command not found

however, when I rename the script it works fine.

The script was named hltest when it was producing the error message, but just renaming it to hltest2 lets it run fine.

Any ideas or suggestions as to why this could be happening would be useful, as I couldn't find much information about it.

It's because hltest is a binary installed with your linux distro.
$ which hltest
You must rename the script or use the full path to execute.

Morning Goosen,

thanks for that. Problem solved, and I'll remember that for future reference.
