strange behavior, window popping up in black lab linux

hi all ive been using black lab linux for awhile (several months) with great results, really nice distro. BUT recently when i click on a torrent file link the file manager window will popup as well as opening the link in ktorrent as is normal. i havent changed anything (that i know of) that would cause the filemanager too open with this kind of link?

any ideas why this filemanager is opening and how too stop it

thanks

Hi & Welcome to Linux Questions.

I'm not sure why the file manager would be opening when you click on a torrent file.

What file manager does Black Lab use?

It might be possible to control or disable what's going on through your DE.
What desktop manager are you using?

I assume you're using Firefox to download the torrent?

I've had a similar issue, Firefox wants to open everything with VLC. I just chalked it up to a bug in Firefox.
