Post Stop gui from starting

Hello everyone I am a new Linux user.
I have installed Arch Linux and it was working fine until I tried to install a Gui. I installed kde plasma5 and enabled sddm and since then it directly goes to gui but as it has not been installed properly all I see is a cursor and a black screen. As it goes there directly I cant disable it from command line. Is there any way thatll get me back to the command line rather than this broken screen? I am stuck there.
Thanks for your help and sorry for any mistakes Im typing on a phone.

Well then you didn't install all of the packages (or similar) for the GUI then - try installing the rest of them. You could also look at an easier distribution like Linux Mint for example - which is probably a better option if you're new to Linux.

You can also try CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE to kill the X server - the base for a GUI in Linux - in simple terms.

Thank you Keruskerfuerst, trying CTRL ALT F2 / F3 / F4 / F5 / F6 did the work. F1 takes me back to the black screen with a cursor, others are making me switch to the console.

Thank you jsbjsb001! I've installed Fedora as I already owned its DVD, after not being able to manage Arch to work properly after some tries with my limited knowledge on Linux.

Thank you ondoho for the link! It's really informative.

And I am sorry for the delay of my replies, I was not available to answer. Thanks for all the helpful replies once again.
