Still trying to get Java into firefox


Ok, using Firefox 1.0 java jre 1.5.0.01, redhat 9.0

firefox, and hava are both in /usr/local/XXXXXX ( firefox, java )

when i go to plugin java.... i didnt have a plugins dir in firefox, so i made one.... and then made the link... im thinking there is spose to be another file in there. but why didnt it get made to begin with? please help, week deep into this problem.

firefox/lib/firefox-1.0/plugins

it's there

can't just make another one yourself

so your saying if i had firefox in usr/local.... its going to be /usr/local/firefox/lib/firefox-1.0/plugins?

because i dont even have a /usr/local/firefox/lib

Why not add it to your user directory? There should be a folder located at ~/.mozilla/plugins that you can copy or move plugins to.

Also, where did you install firefox to? You can use locate firefox | grep plugins after an updatedb to find the plugin dir of the installed firefox.

My Java plugin for FireFox is in /usr/lib/mozilla/1.x You have to make a sym link to the java plugin that is in the /usr/java file.
