Okay… once again, I ran into issues… this time it’s connecting to the internet, I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS dual booted with Win7. While running off of the USB drive during the testing phase before installation everything worked including connecting to the network and internet. But once installed I lost the internet and every few minutes it asks for the pass phrase but will not connect. The network has several wireless ‘nodes’ to connect to since it is a college network…
I’m running on an Asus U56E laptop with a built in wireless card, wired it works fine, but just will not get past the WAP2 pass phrase.

One more thing, I was given a 2 line command to the terminal and it would connect… I just can’t remember the two commands, but I would have to run them each time I log on.

well, i kept looking and actually found the fix i was looking for...

once logged in to linux open terminal and type:

sudo modprobe -r iwlagn
sudo modprobe iwlagn bt_coex_active=0

If it works, then make the change permanent:

gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/iwl.conf

Copy/paste this line into the new file:

options iwlagn bt_coex_active=0

Save. Quit.

works like a charm.
