steam is unable to connect to steam network


i am using debain 32bit sid

and i have steam and everytime i try to run steam it say unable to connect to steam network help?

Well, the most obvious question first would be: is your network connection working? Can you get on the internet?

Distribution: any UNIXish that works well on my cheapest with mostly KDE, Xfce or CLI but open ;-)

fast puter or no? if so run virtualbox and xp,7,8 or some garbage like that but don't forget to set d-top effects to explode closing window$

otherwise LQ needs way more info to help you...

Why run windows in a virtual machine when steam runs in Linux ?

"true", just a thought as i don't game much these days but i love VBox and Deb on Deb, Linux in Linux++ maybe a simple work around if even temporarily altho you'd need 6 to 8 gigs of ram etc....so, bring on the experts

from what i have read lately steam is having connectivity issues, not just with the Linux client, but all clients.
