startx problems
I have installed peanut and have attempted to configure startx.
The desktop is 'jumbled' when it does come up and the mouse responds erratically and there is a rectangular gray patch at the top of the screen. Using a serial 3 button mouse with a 25-pin adapter (only responds when entered as a mouse systems type) Monitor is VGA (capable of true color and 1024x768) System specs are Intel Triton 430fx chipset Pentium Overdrive processor 200mhz The only message I get that looks like an error (not sure) is: Symbol xf86 Interpret EDID from module /usr/x11r6/lib/modules/libvbe.a is unresolved! Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks |
Disregard This Post
Please disregard this post as I have switched to Corel Linux with a previous version of XFree - Problem solved!

i would say that Corel is THE worst distribution i have ever used. that's all

Thanks so much!
I appreciate the input - however I had to go with a distro which supported my old hardware and size was a concern (reason for using Peanut - old 2gig hard drive) and Corel made it ridiculously easy to install and run! (I did search for an iso of Peanut v8.4 -no luck...)
