Startup log

Hello

I am using Mepis 8.0 I see a red error message on the right side of my screen during startup. I am not sure what its for. (it goes to fast).
How can I create a log to study the issue more closely.

As ronlau9 says, you should see a log in /var/log/boot.log or /var/log/messages.

You can also pause the boot-up messages during boot by pressing the Scroll Lock key. While it's paused, you can then hold down Shift and press the Page Up and Page Down keys to scroll. (Scroll Lock to unpause).

Hope that helps,
