startup


Hi
Where can i find start up list of programs.
You know, some thing like in win, so I can add or remove some startup programs

Please check this directory. As far as I remember, it has all the startup scripts there.

I you wish to disable any service from startup, the best way would be to remove its executable flag
Code:
chmod 644 /etc/rc.d/rc.servicename

what about if I want to set some program to start when I start KDE?

Make a script which launches your program with the options you want, and put it in $HOME/.kde/Autostart

Don't forget to set the execute permission on these programs.

Note that KDE can remember which programs were running the last time you shut it down, and re-launch them. The options for this are in the session management section of the kcontrol (control center) program.
