starting network service.


Hi,

Every time I boot my Linux box, I have to execute 'service network restart' before connecting to net. Why is this required? Is it really required?



BTW: I am using fedora 9.

no it is not required..
r u booting in init 5 mode by default ?
u may need to change some /etc/init* or /etc/rc* file

have a look, chkconfig --list
if the network is ON, on 3 and 5

This problem was solved by enabling network on init levels 3 and 5 using chkconfig command
