There was an error about not finding the lircrc file. It was looking in the home/mythtv/.mythtv folder for the lircrc file. I had placed it in the home/mythtv folder. I had to make the .mythtv folder and moved the file there. All is well and working.

Rebooted and everything worked. I had some issues with the lircrc file so I did some editing, updated the files, rebooted and everything worked fine. Time to move the PC from the "lab"to the rec room for the rest of the family to enjoy. I shut off the hardware, moved it to the rec room and everything except the remote works fine. I tried every way I could think of of powering up the hardware and the results were the same. I moved everything back to the lab, fired it up and nothing works, irw, irrecord, and mythtv.

I think I may have a hardware problem with HDHomeRun so I asked them a question about testing the ir function of the unit and am waiting for an answer.

I had some time to do some more trying and discovered that

must be run to get the HDHomeRun to pass on the remote signal. Now all I need to figure out is where to place the command. After work today I shall try different files to see if I can come up with a solution. I tried rc.local and that did not work but it may be I need to work on the text or something.
