Start with xfce GUI
I am using xfce for my wm, which runs normally when I start it manually, but I would like to start my system with the xfce graphical login. I have changed the run level to 5, but the system still starts with the command line login. Obviously I am missing something - what would that be?

(as root): apt-get install gdm
(or try installing xdm or kdm - xdm is the default X one, it's kind of ugly, and kdm is the KDE / QT one. gdm will fit best with your xfce since most of the apps you run are probably GTK.) |
Perfect - that did it. I tried xdm but that was too basic, so I went with gdm. Thanks.
