Start-up Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Hello,

I’m sending this message from my laptop with Windows 10 because my desktop with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS is not starting up !!!
Get only a report from Blancco (?) with the description of a HP desktop, unknown to me.
Probably I made a mistake with the starting sequence in the UEFI.

What can I do to solve this ?
How can I get into the UEFI when the PC is not starting up?

Many thanks in advance for your reply.

Best regards.

What does not starting up mean? You push the power button and nothing happens or does it start to boot and then fail?

Each PC brand and model has its own way of interrupting the boot process and setting UEFI or BIOS parameters. I would search the internet for my PC model.

Hello,

My desktop is self-made by a friend of mine, who cannot help here ....
When I push the power button it starts, but I get immediately this Blancco thing...

Thanks and best regards.

the only Blancco I know of is a commercial disk-wiping utility. Has your friend, perhaps, left a drive of some sort connected with that software installed?
Your friend can, very mch, help by telling you how the syystem is set up and the motherboard make and model, etc.

See the link below at the Blannco support page.

try the esc and/or one of the f-keys when first turning on the computer to see if you can get into the bios. esc f2 f10 f9 f12 would be good key options to try first.

He should know the motherboard brand, which should help you to find out how to set up UEFI.

If this is the correct manual http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/.../H110M-DGS.pdf
try the del or f2 key.

Already done without any success.
Best regards.

did you hold down the buttons while applying power?

yancek 11-18-2019 06:36 AM

Did you go to the site at the link I posted above? It has an extremely detailed FAQ as well as a section on known issues you might read. Seems to me your best bet is to contact your 'friend' if you can since you have information on a report of an HP desktop and you are using a differnt computer (ASRock).

Hello,

I had a discussion this morning with the guy who assembled this desktop for me.
He will take it and try to solve the problem.
Hopefully he will do it.

Best regards.
