Start Jabber as daemon
I run Red Hat Linux 7.3. I have just installed the jabber 1.4.3 server and would like it to start automatically when I boot linux and run in the background. I would also be glad to have it appear in the service configuration window like Sendmail, named and the otherdaemons do so that I can restart it from there if I wish. Currently I have to start it manually and leave the console window open. Kindly help.

When I ran redhat (long time ago) I used a tool for that called ntsysv.
Tried several flavors, but then I discovered gentoo. Never looked back since. |
