Stand-alone presentation from Libreoffice Impress?
 

Hi,

Is it possible to create a stand-alone presentation from Impress? by stand-alone I mean which doesn't require Impress, but can still run movies, play sounds, and show all the effects Impress can do.

I'll be preparing presentations on Linux, but will run them on a windows machine, without Libreoffice installed.

Have you tried exporting the presentation as a swf? I don't know if the transitions and music are preserved. The only time I did this (create on linux, display on windows) I exported to a powerpoint file and used the powerpoint viewer from microsoft to run the presentation. however, I lost some effects doing this.

I don't know your whole situation, but you could also run a live-linux distro off a usb key, and use libreoffice to do the presentation. This might not be optimal in some environments though for a whole host of reasons.

***edit*** a portable version of libreoffice running off a usb key might be your best bet. check this out: http://portableapps.com/support/libreoffice_portable
