It's been at beta for months; the folks behind it didn't have the time because of commitments relating to VL 6.0 32-bit and last I heard from a poster on the VL forum, it's dead in the water, at least for now. Last post in either of the VL64 threads was 2 months ago. I asked about devel and beta testing/helping build packages then, I was told that it wasn't happening. Maybe they'll tell you something different (although they're still working on 6.0 AFAIK).
Damn shame too. I took the beta for a test drive; it was seriously promising, and I'm hard to impress. If it was mostly together and development was continuing, I might never have started using Arch64

Don't let that necessarily dissuade you though; maybe if more people inquire about it, maybe get more volunteers...I've always thought that a 64-bit Mini Slack (such as Vector or Zenwalk) would be a terrific idea; I appear to be in a small minority, apparently.
