ssh too slow

Hi,

I have a problem. I have sshd running on my home machine and when I connect to it from outside, it gets a very slow connection. Is there anything I can do to make it faster?

Thanks

do you mean like there's too much delay between the time you hit a key and see the character?? or do you mean the file transfer rate is to low??

right now, I have two problems:

1) Sometimes there is too much delay between when I hit the key and see the character.

2) My internet connection dies down after an hour or so. I turn it on and it works fine from outside (ssh) but after a while it just refuses to connect to anything and times out.

I have a netgear router and have set the connection settings so that it is not disconnected, but it still happens.

Any suggestions?
