Unhappy SSH Connection refused after reboot

Hi,

I bought a server from Hetzner. I can install a fresh Ubuntu image onto it and then can SSH onto it.

If however I force the server to reboot, I can then not get onto it via SSH. I just get 'Connection Refused'.

Has anyone had this before?

I can' say anything about Hetzner, but Connection refused is probably an indication that sshd is not running. Is it enabled? Is it broken? Are there error or other messages?

Hi tshd

A connection refusal usually occurs when a service is not running as per berndbausch's reply.
Alternatively a firewall service may be running a REJECT rule - which may be for your client IP address (because your Windows client is inside a different ISP network)or because Ubuntu defaults to this at install time.
Sorry, I don't know what the default Ubuntu (ufw) firewall rule for port 22 is but it may be just that, that needs fixing. Do you have a Cpanel or other ISP provided "console" connection to this server? You'd have to make the ufw changes via that route I guess.

Take a look at this: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.co...rom-windows-10
or here: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2399409
These were some Google results from searching on "async io completed with error: 10061"

Hope this helps.
Alex

I hit this problem today with a completely different cause. A misconfigured profile prevented login at the console or by SSH.
