ssd 'erase block' alignment with gparted

I've been trying this: http://blog.eracks.com/2012/08/prope...urce-software/

but don't understand why would we need the same procedure for every partition on SSD. Presumably, if the first partition is aligned, and its size is N*1024Kb, then the second one would be aligned too? (why should we waste 1Mb of space between each two partitions?)

well its the same text, copy+pasted all over the internet.
my question is why would we need to align *all* partitions, if the first one is aligned and all preceding have rounded size?
edit: nevermind, I understand now.
