your cache is running out of file descriptor...
once i increased the no of file descrptor from 1024 to 4028 , the problem temporaily sorted out but after a few days same problem is repetaed ....and still the problem exist ...as i m a ebie to linux pls help me...
Have a look at this site for some pointers on how to solve the file descriptor problem. You should also review your configuration of Squid and check the settings referring to your cache.
thanks for your kind reply but ihave alredy incereasd no of file descriptor to 4028.the problem was teporily sort out but after a few days it agin appeared.so plese help me .....one more thing- does squid cache purging may help it out? if yes pls provide me the best way to purge the squid cache ......can i purge squid online with out affecting its working.
If you already increased your number of file descriptors and after some time this error occurs again, then you'll have to look at your Squid cache directives as I pointed out earlier. The answer to your purge question can be found at the Squid Wiki, a very good source of information.
