Squid keeps on stopping

I recently cleared cache and access log from free bsd proxy server. The speed of browsing became very slow. The squid keeps on stopping. The errors on cache is TunnelStateData::Connection::error: FD 339: read/write failure: (32) Broken pipe 2012/10/08 12:02:26| TunnelStateData::Connection::error: FD 1000: read/write failure: (60) Operation timed out 2012/10/08 12:04:34| TunnelStateData::Connection::error: FD 94: read/write failure: (60) Operation timed out 2012/10/08 12:05:18

I also get the errors when i restart the proxy and some one has to physically cancel the error messages before squid and webmin can start. The errors are 'limiting closed port rst response from 222 to 200 packets'
kindly assist

Try to run the following command to rebuild the cache and reload squid:

#/usr/local/sbin/squid -z
