squid installation and configuration


hi all..
can ne1 help me out with this prblm...i wish to install and configure
squid server such that-
1.it allows access to net thru mac address rathr than ip address
and whoever chngs his/her ip addrss should not be able to
access net.
2.automatic time boundation in net timings...at present i have to
connect and disconnect the net manualy in squid.conf file

plz help me out wit this...i got stuck wit this a long time nd no possible soln is available....i went thru squid-cache.org ...but its method r nt wrking.plz give me the complete detail from downloading to installation nd configuring.

thanks in advance neways...

What distro are you using? If you dont't mind installing another one for the proxy, you could just download specific proxy distros, such as Smoothwall or IPCop. They allow you to manage Squid through a friendly GUI. There is an add-on that is available for both, called "Advanced Proxy", that will surely fit your needs.
