Spontaneous Rebooting?

Ok so I just installed an old 10GB HD into my computer so I could install Linux to it w/o repartitioning. NOTE: This drive is /dev/hde.

After selecting "Linux" from LILO, the comp will start up OK then spontaneously reboot after about 2-5 minutes of use w/o me doing anything. (i.e. this happened whether I left it idle or if I did stuff.

Not much we can do for you I don't think. Could be a hardware issue. No problems with your other operating systems I take it?

An chance you have any other harddisks to try?

Actually I do have another 4GB hd and a 2GB hd but the 4 is on the flaky side after a power surge and the 2GB isn't really big enough although I guess I could try it.

2Gig not big enough for Slack?.........
Then maybe you could try Vectorlinux ; Based on Slack and requires just some 600/700MB in full install.(X included)
