splash screen issuses
 

ok im useing sabayon linux gentoo based. runing gnome window manager metacity. now i was trying to figure a way to change the splash screen i found that you can go into the configuration editor and edit the splash screen line i did so i moved the splash screen i wannted into splash folder and just switched names of the file. it worked sort of what happend when i restarted my computer and logged in was the splash screen only showed up for a second and then the background color took over fo rthe rest of the duration of loading. im not sure how to remove background color or if theres a differnt way to chnage the splash screen i was lookignthrought the control center and various administrative tools and prefences and system tools but came up empty hannded except the configuartion editor. am i doing it wrong?

updates still have the issue with the splash screen i tried framebuffer splash manager program throught the terminal but still no results its not that big of a deal i just would like a picture p there instead of a colored screen. but would image size have anything to do with the reason its appearing for a second and dissappearing? its size is 3.5mb
