Speedtouch and modem_run

i have a quick question about modem_run for the speedtouch - I have the USB speedtouch working PPPoATM, however, every time I reboot the machine, I have to run modem_run -k -f firmware.bin, or I get errors when I try and call the connection.
Once I've run it, I can connect using pppd no problem.

Is it really necessary to call this every time I want to dial up?

well, you can always create a executable file with that line and add a link to it to /etc/init.d/ once you do that, it will be executed everytime your machine boots up.

Basically like this file: //file name

modem_run -k -f firmware.bin

#end of file

chmod a+x //almost forgot, make it executable

ln modem_script //create a link
cp modem_script /etc/init.d/modem_script // copy link to directory

Somebody correct me if i made a mistake somewhere.
