I have a Alcatel speedtouch 330 USB ADSL modem, for playing my games on the internet under the well-known windows.
I also have a knoppix 3.1 distro for the serious work, but cannot connect to the internet yet. I found an article that suits me best: ttp://david.abdelli.free.fr/speedtouch/en/index.html[/url]
After reading some more documentiation, i noticed i have to install some firmware in my modem (mgmt.o).
My question is, will my modem still work under windows, or do i have to reinstall the modem driver in windows again, or in worst case, find the "windows firmware version" to be able to get on the internet again. Im very afraid of this to happen so i'll try a post in this forum.

I would recommend getting an ethernet modem. They will work well in both Windows and Linux.
