spaces affect the firefox commands in terminal

firefox -private &
This command open private browsing . but the same command

Code:
firefox -private&
without space between ampersand and the -private option will only open normal browsing window.what is the difference between this two commands

The command line option is -private. When you use that, Firefox does as you request.

Firefox doesn't understand the command line option -private&. So, it ignores it.

The ampersand directs the shell to run the command in the background and it should be separated from the command and its options.
