Sources For Debian Apt-Get

Hello!

This is indeed a very newbie-ish question. I'm just wondering how I switch, or get an extra, sources for apt in debian. I guess I have to modify the /etc/apt/sources or something, but I'm pretty careful, so I won't mess up totally and have to reinstall ;)

Once you have the address of a new source, just add it to /etc/apt/sources.list --- and then do apt-get update --- a good example of a source to add is the sources for mplayer
deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat unstable main
What aRe you looking for? the main, non-free and contrib contain almost everything.

edit - missed the R from aRe ---- I'm pretty uptight about these things sometimes. :)

thanks, i'll add that one. the main reason for my wanting new sources is that the one I have is only answering like 30% of the time, today i've spent more than 5 hours waiting for about 100mb to get downloaded using a connection which could've downloaded 10 times that. :(
