Sounds, Wine and others...

I have recently installed "Wine" the app to make run Exe, I am using it to play Counter-Strike Souce but i also want to go on Teamspeak to talk with my friend. The problem is that, i can't have 2 app with sounds. I mean, teamspeak can have sound but Wine won't have and vice versa...

So i can i have sounds on both

(P.S i am noob and i speak French so sorry for my bad english)

Hi, first of all, Teamspeak is there for linux as well. Don't know if you have that version, but i can't make that up out of your story.

Second of all, to have multiple sound streams, it's my believe that then you need to have SoundCard that has Hardware mixing, which you can find @ www.alsa-project.org

If there's a 3 @ notes, it means your sound card is beeing supported in alsa WITH hardware mixing, this enables multiple sound streams.

I don't know if this goes for OSS too.

Well, try reading http://alsa.opensrc.org/DmixPlugin for software mixer.. I guess that you can configure OSS emulation software mixing, and in winecfg make audio use OSS. Teamspeak should use OSS too, but I have never seen Teamspeak to say how is it configured.
