Soundblaster16 ISA not found by RH9
 
Appearantly my RedHat9 is not able to automatically detect my rather old Soundblaster 16 Card. Shouldn't be a problem. After all, this is Linux and that means there should be a way to configure that card manually without fancy GUIS, right?

Sooooo ... how do I do that?

PS: Yeah, I had a similar question in another thread, but it kinda got lost there because it was not the only question I asked in that thread.

Hi pal_o_matic,

Have you tried using the sndconfig tool? It can autodetect your card or if that fails, will ask you for manual configuration.

If that doesn't work, you could also try the alsa drivers. Here's the link:

Yeah, I used to have an isa card and had to use sndconfig. Try running it with the --noprobe option.
