sound will nicht
Hallo
Die Konfiguration habe ich mit alsaconf gemacht. sndstat sagt: dalton:/etc# cat /dev/sndstat cat: /dev/sndstat: Kein passendes Gerät gefunden Gruß, Emanuel Anhang: dalton:/etc# cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.8-1-386 (joshk@trollwife) (gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-2)) dalton:/etc# lspci 0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] 746 Host (rev 02) 0000:00:01.0 PCI bridge: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] SG86C202 0000:00:02.0 ISA bridge: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] SiS963 [MuTIOL Media IO] (rev 25) 0000:00:02.1 SMBus: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS]: Unknown device 0016 Controller0000:00:09.0 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies Inc. well.... i think it's a good idea to stick to one laguage on this site. ( that's English ).
( life is too short to learn German ... :) ) ( who said that ? ) egag |
hm.. I see.. :-)
I will try a short translation.. I can get audio from the bash, before I loginto gnome/kde: cat sample.au > /dev/audio (I can hear Linus pronouncing Linux . nice !) After login I cannot get any audio. Neither with OSS nor ALSA ( I would prefere alsa ) But the gnome-alsa-mixer seems to work ( it doesn't crash at least ) I'm using Sarge, Midiman Audiophile 26/96 as Soundcard, Kernel 2.6.8. I read some howtos, but still do not know what I should/could do next. I used alsaconf for configuration. sndstat sais: dalton:/etc# cat /dev/sndstat cat: /dev/sndstat: Kein passendes Gerät gefunden More outputs are on the top. Emanuel |
Hey its not his fault he can't speak English. I sadly speak german but never used that card and don't everything looks find, not sure why it doesn't work.

It's his fault to speak German on an English-only board.
There's more than one German linux-oriented message board where one can go if English is not an option. This, btw, is an official moderator note, not just my personal opinion. Cheers, Tink |
Anyone can speak any language they please anywhere they want.

He can speak German where ever he pleases, he
just can't type it here. http://www.linuxquestions.org/rules.php Quote:

did you already run alsamixer ?
use: " #alsamixer " ( you get a graph.,use arrow-keys to push up all channals to ca. 80 % ) use ctr-c to quit " #alsactl store " to store settings. egag |
Good, because I don't want any part in anything that acts like the FCC. We all have freedoms and should never have to worry about being regulated by anyone.

if you're unhappy with what the mod says you respond via e-Mail. Your freedom ends where/when you break rules or encourage or defend others who do so. View the rules and accepting them as signing a normal contract. You DON'T have the freedom to deviate from it. If I buy a car of you but decide to only pay you 10% because paying in full would make me feel like I limit my freedom, and you'd get upset ... does that make you the FCC? Judging by your logic I suppose so. Cheers, Tink |
Did you notice that the poster has switched to English? So he is happily trying to follow the rules. Nothing to be discussed, I guess.
Now, let's help him with his problem! gargamel |

2 months? And please, don't moderate me. I'm the mod, and was trying to get across the fact that a member who signed up and ACCEPTED the rules was breaking them, and some free-spirited person was trying to come to his aid ... lots to be discussed, apparently, in terms of how LQ works and what the rules mean, both to mods and the registered users. As for his question with gnome and noise ... it obviously wouldn't work because esd had "snaffled" the device, and wasn't willing to share it with a 'cat'... Cheers, Tink |
