Sound server fatal error :/


i just booted into KDE for the first time. I was using GNOME and the sound worked fine. Redhat 9.1 also.

Gives this :

Sound server fatal error:

/tmp/mcop-jason2 is not owned by user? how would i get around this ???

Logout of X, become root in a console,
and rm the file/directory and try again.

If the error persists, do
ls -ltr /var/log
and look through the most recent logfiles
for possible errors.

ok i am in here as root. the only way i could find the directory is in the terminal. so i am in the folder now and there is a file called secretcookie ... so how do i add permissions for my user in here. ??

You could just change ownership for it

chown -R <username> /tmp/mcop-jason2
